The Soup Before the Serving

The notebook is the messy kitchen; the SQL file is the clean dish served to production.

The authoring metaphor inside Recipe Cells: exploratory work happens in the notebook — the kitchen, where things are messy and iterative (the soup) — and only the finished, clean result is written to the SQL file that production consumes (the dish, the serving). Keeps exploration and delivery deliberately separate.
