Show the Structure

Show the structure, don't just describe it — generated diagrams, whiteboards and visuals that let everyone see the same model and correct it.

Show the Structure

Visualization is how complexity gets shared. An IT landscape and its data flows are too tangled to hold in prose or in one person’s head; the way to make them graspable at every level — not just for the abstract thinkers — is to show them. A whiteboard sketch, a generated diagram, a clear picture of the model: these let a room full of people point at the same structure and argue about the right thing. The shift is that the picture no longer has to be hand-maintained. Diagrams generated from the underlying metadata, driven by AI skills and rules, are always current — the moment the model changes, the picture changes. That kills the old rot where the diagram on the wall drifts away from the system it claims to describe. Read the picture from the source; don’t transcribe it. Visualization serves feedback: you can only correct what you can see. Make the structure visible, and the domain experts can do their half of the modeling.
