Architecture
Systems meet only at agreed interfaces — inbound and outbound — so each side can change independently. The contract is the seam, and it is monitored.
Systems meet only at agreed interfaces — never in each other's internals. Every system has an inbound side (what it accepts) and an outbound side (what it promises), and between two systems sits a data contract: agreed up front, versioned, and continuously monitored. That last word is what separates decoupling from a diagram. Boundaries drawn on a slide are not boundaries; boundaries that break a build when violated are.
